Vereda Tropical

"I love watermelons. I like to have them in the late afternoon, when the twilight is coming, standing up, on the kitchen table, on the sofa, where it's cozier, or lying on the living room rug, where we can roll from side to side." This is how the short story Vereda Tropical, by Pedro Maia Soares, begins, which Joaquim Pedro Andrade adapted for cinema in 1977 and was almost entirely banned by censorship, only being shown to Brazilian audiences in the 1980s.
