The French car company Altra wants to take revenge at the Amsterdam Motor Show with an ingenious prototype caravan designed by Mr Hulot. Together with Maria, the company's spoilt young PR girl, Mr Hulot will accompany the lorry carrying the prototype to Amsterdam. On this journey, a series of mishaps will occur that will delay the arrival and change Maria's attitude towards those around her.
