Brazil, 1977. Marcelo, a technology specialist in his 40s, is on the run. He arrives in Recife during carnival week, hoping to reunite with his son, but soon realises that the city is far from being the non-violent refuge he is looking for.
Set to open in Portuguese cinemas in November, Kleber Mendonça Filho's The Secret Agent- winner of the Best Director and Best Actor awards at the last Cannes Film Festival - will have special screenings in Portugal with the presence of the director.
Kleber Mendonça Filho will be at Cinema Trindade on 25, 26 and 27 July to meet the Portuguese public, who have followed and cherished his career, and who are looking forward to the film's premiere.
