Marina, 18, orphaned at a young age, has to travel to the Atlantic coast of Spain to get a signature from her paternal grandparents, whom she has never met, for a scholarship application. There, she will meet a multitude of new uncles, aunts and cousins, without knowing whether she will be welcomed or meet resistance. Awakening long-buried emotions, rekindling tenderness and uncovering silent wounds linked to the past, Marina reconstructs the fragmented - and often contradictory - memories of her parents, whom she barely remembers.
