Nelly, 8 years old, has just lost her grandmother and is helping her parents clear out her mother's childhood home. She explores the house and the surrounding forest, where her mother, Marion, used to play and where she built a treehouse. One day, her mother leaves without explanation. And Nelly meets a girl, around her age, in the forest. She is building a treehouse and her name is Marion.
