THE OLD OAK is a special place. It is not just the last pub standing, but the only remaining public space where people can gather. TJ Ballantyne (Dave Turner), the owner, stubbornly keeps the pub open, and his efforts become even more threatened when the space turns into a contested territory following the arrival of Syrian refugees housed in the village. When TJ meets Yara (Ebla Mari), a young Syrian woman with a camera, an unlikely friendship develops. Can they find a way to foster understanding between the two communities?
