Nights of Cabiria

Cabiria is an optimistic, romantic and poor young woman who lives off unscrupulous men. One particularly desperate day, she goes to church to ask God for a miracle to change her life. Not long after, she meets an apparently sincere young man who is willing to marry her. She is at the height of happiness, and believes that she has been saved by breaking with her lugubrious past. She takes all her savings to follow him, but he disappears with her money...
