What happens when a woman enters a competition traditionally reserved for men and manages to grab the cross that an Orthodox priest throws into the river? Petrunya does just that and enrages the men and the priest, who brings the police into the matter. Although not initially a feminist, Petrunya refuses to yield to pressure to return the cross and fights for equal rights.
