Whilst anxiously awaiting the results of a medical examination, Cléo, a singer, wanders through the streets of Paris. Along the way, she meets her lover, her composer, her friend Dorotheé and a soldier about to be deployed. In this chronicle of moments in a woman’s life, Varda eloquently captures 1960s Paris, striking a balance between vivid cinéma vérité and melodrama. One of the most iconic films of the Nouvelle Vague, it remains as vibrant today as it was in 1962.
