Posing as the wealthy Joseph Johnson, Augustus Billings becomes involved in a romance with Clairette. One day, her husband discovers the affair and, with Augustus's photograph, sets off in search of his wife's lover. The pursuit leads him to the real Joseph Johnson, who has no idea what's going on and doesn't like being falsely accused. A 1938 film, shot three years before Citizen Kane, lost to time and rediscovered in 2008, it was publicly screened for the first time in 2013 at the Pordenone Silent Film Festival in Italy.
