A clog maker and his wife live a simple life on the banks of the Loire River. During the bombings of Nantes in World War II, director Jacques Demy and his brother Yves took refuge in their home. In his first short film, Demy describes the clog maker's craft with affection and attention to detail to thank and honor the generosity of the now elderly couple who welcomed him.
