Idade da Terra

Inspired by a poem by Castro Alves, the film portrays the political, cultural and rational situation in Brazil at the end of the 70s. The film shows a sinful Christ, a black Christ, a Christ who would be a Portuguese conqueror and a warrior Christ - the four "Horsemen of the Apocalypse". The film takes on a prophetic and religious tone and retells the Christian myth through the symbols and customs of Brazilian culture.
